Roles and responsibilities of the Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Committee at Brookside Primary School
This committee shall meet each term. Its aim and purpose is to understand, monitor and review statutory and non-statutory obligations in order to ensure a challenging and vibrant curriculum, excellence in behaviour and outstanding progress and achievement.
The following terms of reference apply:
- To act on matters delegated by the full Governing Body
- To contribute to the school improvement plan
- To carry out the responsibilities of the Governing Body with regard to all curriculum matters, including the implementation of the National Curriculum.
- To advise the Governing Body on its curriculum policy.
- To ensure that the requirements of children with special educational needs are met.
- To advise the Governing Body on its policy for sex education.
- To oversee health education within school
- To develop and review policies identified with the in the schools policy review programme.
- To ensure that the requirements of children with special needs are met, as laid out in the Code of Practice.
- To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of leadership and management.
- To monitor and evaluate the impact of quality of teaching of pupil progress and standards of achievement including underachieving groups.
- To monitor and evaluate the impact of continuing professional development on improving staff performance.
- To ensure that all children have equal opportunities
