Parental involvement is vital in ensuring that our children are happy and succeed well in school.  At Brookside Primary School, we value the support our parents give us.  We keep our parents fully informed about school life through a number of different approaches:

  • Parents' Evenings - twice a year, October/November and March/April, parents and carers are invited to come into school to talk to the teacher about their child's progress.
  • Newsletters - posted on the website (links on Facebook page), displayed in parents' noticeboard and also given to children in hard copy..
  • Weekly 'Positive Comments' Celebration Assemblies - parents are invited to attend our weekly assemblies on Friday mornings when we celebrate children's achievements.
  • Texting Service - we have the facility to text messages to parents' mobile phones.
  • Parents' Noticeboard - topical information is displayed on a notice board situated at the main entrance and in the playground.
  • Facebook Page - Facebook page where we celebrate learning and share information.
  • Letters - we send individual letters home to parents for specific activities and events where permission slips may be required for the children to be able to take part.

Many of our parents volunteer to help in school and on trips.

We believe we work hard to form strong relationships with our parents and we are grateful for the response we receive from them.  After all, we all have the same purpose - To work together to ensure that our children are happy and successful in everything they do.
