As part of our science topic this half term, 'Animal Life Cycles and Reproduction', Year 5 were tasked with charming worms to allow them to study their growth.

Year 5 had to get the worms to the surface to allow them to collect them carefully. They did this by placing a large stick in the soil and tapping it, causing the stick to vibrate through the soil making the worms travel towards the service. The vibrations mimicked the movement of moles underground making the worms travel up to the surface as part of a survival mechanism.

We will now study the worms in our worm farms to see if they grow and reproduce. Then it can be said that a good worm habitat has been created with the ideal conditions for the worms to continue their life cycle.
