Spaghetti Bolognese is a classic Italian dish that is loved by many around the world. It's a delicious and comforting meal that's perfect for a family dinner or a gathering with friends. However, traditional spaghetti Bolognese recipes can be high in fat, salt, and calories, making it not the healthiest option for a regular meal.

In Year 5, we learned about the importance of healthy eating and how we can modify our favourite dishes to make them healthier. As part of our cooking class, we sampled different versions of spaghetti Bolognese and experimented with modifying the recipe to make it healthier.

One way we made spaghetti Bolognese healthier was by using lean ground beef or turkey instead of the traditional beef, which is higher in fat. We also added more vegetables, such as carrots, mushrooms, and zucchini, to the sauce to increase the nutrient content and fibre.
