Ellie from Chester Zoo visited Year 5, this afternoon, to discuss different animal life cycles and brought a collection of eggs for the students to observe. Ellie explained the different types of eggs, the conditions required for them to hatch, and the variations in size, shape, and texture.

The students were fascinated by the eggs of reptiles, which are leathery and soft, while bird eggs have a smooth surface to prevent them from rolling off the nest.

Ellie also explained to the class how mammals like giraffes and tigers are born live and usually take longer to develop inside their mothers before being born.
