Year 1

We went on a plant hunt just like the famous plant explorer George Forrest. He was born in 1873 in Scotland. He went to lots of countries to find new plants. He brought 1200 plants and seeds back to the UK.  

We have been learning about being SMART while using the computer in Year one. 

Writing facts about the Great fire of London.

Using a painting programme and typing text using capital letters, spacebar and return keys. The children were able to save their own work and print it off. 

In Year One we've been using Safe Search Kids to find images of animals safely online. 

SMART online decisions!

In Year One we have been learning about being safe online. 

In Year 1 we created symbols and labels to make a map of our school grounds. 

In Year 1 we designed a new chair for baby bear. 

In Year 1 we designed and made a new chair for baby bear as Goldilocks had broken his!

These are the finished chairs for baby bear. We tested out how strong they were. 

In Year 1 we looked at the old Brookside School and compared it with our new school.
