Year 4

Y4 have spent the day learning about Ancient Greek Legacies of language, theatre and architecture.

The children worked together to build a model version of the Parthenon and complete a drama about the Ancient Greek Gods of Olympus.  

Children in Year 4 have been learning about the Ancient Greek Gods using sources.  

Children in Year 4 have been learning how to complete safe and effective internet research as part of their curriculum work on Ancient Greece. 

Children in Year 4 have been exploring how by adding energy to particles we can change something from a liquid to a solid. 

The children turned double cream into butter - it was yummy on crackers! 

First day back and the children in Year 4 are busy revising and reviewing the Place Value knowledge from Year 3. 

Children in Year 4 have been learning how to ask and answer YES and NO questions to be able to construct Branching Databases  

Children in Year 4 have been observing the processes of evaporation and condensation.  

Year 4 have been writing Nature Programme voiceovers.  The children had to focus on presenting their work with appropriate intonation, tone and volume to inform and entertain the reader.

Children in Year 4 have been using images to make prediction about our new Literacy book, 'Where the Forest Meets the Sea'. 

Children in Year 4 have been practising inserting text boxes and images, as well as using the Spell Check function to create a 'How to Survive Volcano' Guide,. 

Children have been exploring the relationship between Volume and Distance.  They have graphed their results.

As part of our World Book Day, Year 4 spent time reading with their Reception Reading buddies. All the children enjoyed sharing and talking about their books.
