Y6 Walk like an Egyptian

Year 6 had a super workshop yesterday learning all about Ancient Egypt. The children learnt new facts about Egyptian Pharaohs as well as re-creating artefacts for own very own Egyptian museum.

Pyramids!

The children in Year 6 were challenged to build a pyramid to hold treasure.  They had to plan, make and evaluate their structure. 

The winning pyramid held 1.5kg! Well Done to The Egyptian MEEM Amegies.

Mummification

This week, Year 6 have become Ancient Egyptian embalmers. Human bodies are in high demand, so they used tomatoes instead.

Children in Year 6 have had a fun afternoon completing Big Maths Challenges at Whitby High School.

Hoops4Health

Today, Year 5 and Year 6 have participated in a Hoops4Health workshop delivered by Cheshire Phoenix. They explained the importance eating health, exercising to keep fit (Basketball activities) and the dangers of smoking.

Year 6 visit Safety Central

Year 6 have had a fantastic day at Safety Central in Lymm. The children have learnt lots new knowledge to keep them safe.

SUPER STAR READER

A SUPER STAR READER from Year 6 has read 3 books this week. He also stood up in assembly to explain his new developed love of books and reading for pleasure.

Y6 create World War II inspired Art

Children in Year 6 have been creating landscape pictures inspired by their work of World War II.  The children have been blending chalks to created a background and then adding charcoal silhouettes over the top.
