At Brookside, we teach computing in a cross-curricular manner.

We also ensure we teach the key skills of computing in all year groups through the 3 key areas of:

1) Network and the Internet

2) Using ICT

3) Making Things Happen

 

 Our main focus is currently "Network and the Internet" and we have made a display in the computing room illustrating the 'progression of skills' in this area from Reception all the way through to Year 6. Please have a look at some of the work we have been doing.

Using a mouse correctly

Understanding the everyday uses

of the internet and technology.
Beginning to find information out safely from the internet.

Year 3 - finding out how to stay

'cyber safe'.
Year 4 have learnt how to use avatars to help keep their identities safe online.
Year 5 are taught to question the reliability of the information they receive from the internet.
