This week, our Year 4 children became chocolate scientists as they investigated a very delicious question: Do white, milk, and dark chocolate melt at the same temperature?
Armed with bowls and stopwatches, and plenty of curiosity (plus chocolate), the children carefully observed what happened. They discovered that not all chocolate melts the same way. Some began softening quickly, while others held their shape a little longer. This led to fantastic discussions about ingredients, cocoa solids, and why different chocolates might behave differently when heated.
The experiment was a brilliant opportunity for the children to practise making predictions, carrying out a comparative test, and recording their results accurately.
A big well done to Year 4 for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and scientific thinking. What a sweet way to learn!
