There was a brilliant geometric buzz in Year 5 this week as our mathematicians got hands-on with protractors! Before measuring with precision, the children had to put on their detective hats to classify each turn, expertly identifying whether they were dealing with a "sharp" acute angle (less than 90°), a perfect right angle (90°), a wider obtuse angle (between 90° and 180°), or a massive reflex angle (greater than 180°). Lining up the baseline and reading the correct scale can be notoriously tricky, but the class tackled the challenge with fantastic focus and collaboration. By the end of the lesson, they weren't just guessing—they were measuring like true geometric experts. Superb work, Year 5!
