Y6 learnt about the work of ‘Zoltan Kodaly’ and developed an understanding of the Kodaly music method.

We learnt how to strengthen the feeling of pulse when working with rhythmic patterns through collaborative activities (clapping games!)

We used our hands as instruments to explore rhythmic patterns in order to build the sense of pulse, inspired by Steve Reich's 'Clapping Music'

Finally, we used our knowledge about rhythmic notation to notate our own composition.

We even found time to perform ‘Jingle Bells’, interpreting musical notation on the glockenspiel!
