Story time in Year 3 and 5

Year 3 have been building dens to protect their Lego (stone Age) man from the elements.

Year 3 have also been using Scratch to create their own Stone Age game.

All in all we dig the Stone Age!

Year 3 prepare for the Stone Age by classifying different types of rocks.

Year 3 have been learning about both local artists and more established artists from long previous Centuries.

In Year 1 we have been exploring portraits through drawing and painting.

We compared our work to other artists such as Modigliani. 

Year 1 have been creating portraits using drawing, painting and collage skills.

The children gave themselves a hat for the season in which they were born. 

Reception have been learning all about the importance of of Remembrance day. Using a paint app on the ipads we used our skills to draw poppies. We learnt why Poppies are important to help us remember all the soldiers.

Children used different shading techniques to create our artwork as part of our Remembrance Day activities.

Today, the children learnt about the importance of 'Rainbow foods' in our diet and were encouraged to try new foods.  The children had lots of fun creating food collages inspired by the Italian artist, Guiseppe Arcimbaldo. 

Year 3 have been studying the art of Henri Matisse. As a tribute to his famous collage 'The snail' we created our own collage animals. Enjoy!
