This half term in history, Year 5 have been delving in to the history of the Tudors. 
We’ve studied various aspects of this moment in time, such as:

• Was Henry VIII a fair ruler or a tyrant?
• Why did Henry VIII have 6 wives?
• What happened to the belongings of people during this time after…

In our literacy sessions this half term, Year 5 have been reading the story ‘The Darkest Dark’ written by Chris Hadfield (former astronaut).

This afternoon, Year 5 have started to create their very own game in 'Scratch'. Children have create their own spacecraft to land on.

Well done Y6 - we have looked at classification of animals using various sorting diagrams including branch diagrams. Before we began grouping different animals, we sorted and ordered some sweets to test the 'rigidity' of our questions!

Year 2 enjoyed a visit from the Dog's Trust.  They were involved in a half hour workshop, learning all about the five rules of keeping safe around dogs.

Year 2 have been exploring the language of measure and comparing different lengths.  They have then used a standard measure (ruler) to draw lines of varying lengths.

Knowledge: 

Year 3 had a visit from the dog trust and learned all about how to be around dogs safely.

Year 3 enjoyed their day learning about the Romans and Roman Chester.

We found out about why the Romans invaded and why the Roman army was so successful. 

Year 3 have been examining artists who make 3D sculptures and were inspired to create our own.
