Owls
This half term, the children in Year 2 are exploring the book, 'The Owl Who was afraid of the Dark.
To help bring the book alive, Wirral Community Farm brought in some owls.
Hoops4Health
Today, Year 5 and Year 6 have participated in a Hoops4Health workshop delivered by Cheshire Phoenix. They explained the importance eating health, exercising to keep fit (Basketball activities) and the dangers of smoking.
Year 6 visit Safety Central
Year 6 have had a fantastic day at Safety Central in Lymm. The children have learnt lots new knowledge to keep them safe.
Road Safety Winners
Well Done to all the Road Safety Competition Winners. The children were asked to design a poster to promote keep safe as the dark night draw in.

Reception explore the Outdoors
Reception have spent time outside - exploring different materials and building interactions with their friends.
Each Peach, Pear, Plum
Children in Reception have enjoyed exploring the book, Each Peach, Pear Plum by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. The children were all inspired to have a go at making their own apple crumble. It was yummy!
SUPER STAR READER
A SUPER STAR READER from Year 6 has read 3 books this week. He also stood up in assembly to explain his new developed love of books and reading for pleasure.

Y6 create World War II inspired Art
Children in Year 6 have been creating landscape pictures inspired by their work of World War II. The children have been blending chalks to created a background and then adding charcoal silhouettes over the top.
Brookside Buddy Bench
“Children who need a friend to talk to or play games with can sit on the bench. Other children know that these children are feeling sad or lonely and can go over and play with them or listen to them”. Austin (Year 3) came to the School Council with the idea of Buddy Benches.

The hill is alive.... with the sound of Brookside
Children in Year 5 have been to Helsby Hill today as part of their 'The World, Your Oyster'. Children have learnt how to use a compass, practised their mapping skills as well as looking at physical and natural features of the local landscape.
