Year 5 - Worm Charmers
As part of our science topic this half term, 'Animal Life Cycles and Reproduction', Year 5 were tasked with charming worms to allow them to study their growth.
Year 5 had to get the worms to the surface to allow them to collect them carefully. They did this by placing a large stick in the soil…

Exploring Circuits
Children in Year 4 have been exploring electrical circuits. All the children were given different components (wires, cells, bulbs and buzzers) and were asked to create as many different working circuits as possible.

Using conjunctions
Children in Year 4 have been looking at conjunctions and exploring how they can change the meaning of a sentence.
Year 3 Art

Vincent van Goghs or Georgia O' Keeffes!
Year 3 science
Year 3 have been learning all about forces, magnetism and friction.
Here we are undertaking an experiment to find out which surface has the least friction.

Y6 Safety Central
Well done Y6.
Today we went to Lymm and discovered that the world around us can be quite a dangerous place. We looked at many different environments (shops, roads, trains, farms, canals, cyberspace etc) and how to minimise the risks and dangers we might face on a daily basis.

Y5 - URENCO Workshop - Seperating Materials
This morning, Year 5 had Martin from URENCO visit us. Martin gave the class a separating materials workshop.
Pupils took part in various activities. Pupils were comparing different substances and seeing how they themselves could separate materials using centrifugal force.

Volcano - computing
In computing this week, Y6 confidently formatted text about their disaster recounts. We inserted pictures and aligned text. Our typing speed and stamina are really improving!

In history, Y6 have examined the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79.
We asked the hinge question:
Which two cities were affected by the AD 79 volcanic eruption?

Plate Tectonics
In Geography, Y6 asked the questions:
What is the Earth made of?

What happens when a volcano erupts?
We looked at plate tectonics and asked the hinge question:

Year 5 Coding - Faster and Slower.
In our computing lessons this week, Year 5 have been looking at how to code an object to move faster and slower.
Year 5 had to code commands for a car when a button was clicked. The class were also able to make a car go at various speeds after coding commands.
Fantastic work Year…
