This afternoon, Year 5 took part in an experiment to see if the surface area of a parachute would affect the speed the egg fell.

Well done Y6 - despite the weather, we managed to get out of the classroom to 'hop, skip and jump' our way round our daily mile just before Easter for a very important local cause, raising money through sponsorship for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Thank you for your efforts!

Y6 have examined how the media play a powerful role in shaping ideas about girls and boys.

We discussed gender discrimination and how the media have an important responsibility to avoid promoting stereotypical messages.

This half term, Year 5 have been looking at space-themed art.

We have been looking at illustrations from the ‘Space race’ era; exploring how imagery was used and how it influenced art and design; learning the term retrofuturism and evaluating images using knowledge of the formal elements.

Year 5 had a great time taking part in Hop, Skip, and Jump today, raising money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, based in our local community.
